Welcome to the June 2023 monthly update! Let’s get to it!

Join me as I lead the second Angry Angel Book Club meeting at 6pm EDT on Thursday June 1, 2023. This third meeting will be an open discussion centered around summer/beach reads: what we like, what we’ve read, and what we would recommend to others. I will be giving recommendations and introducing some of my most recent reads and new releases.

We have entered my summer break schedule, which will work as follows:

Sundays (Tears of the Kingdom until complete)
Mondays (Tears of the Kingdom until complete)
The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom is much more vast than its predecessor Breath of the Wild, and will probably take me the rest of the summer to complete, even playing both on and off stream.

Wednesdays (We Play Together! – Community Night Games)
I’ll be starting a little later on Wednesdays this summer to allow people time to join in on some community games! Anyone will be able to play Fall Guys or Among Us as long as you have the game purchased (cross play), but to participate in Mario Kart or Smash Brothers you must be a member of my Discord server (Angry Angel Aviary) and share your Nintendo friend code. You can gain access instantly by subscribing to my Twitch channel or becoming a member with Discord access on Ko-Fi or Patreon OR you can gain free access by contributing channel points to the community Discord access challenge live on stream. Once the challenge is met, my discord will become available to all followers.

Fridays (First Playthroughs of previously released games)
I have quite the backlist of Playstation games since they started releasing PSPlus monthly games for free. I’ve also purchased quite a few that sounded interesting but then got drowned out by my Destiny/Destiny 2 addiction (I’m currently about two months clean and still going strong!). During the summer months, Fridays will be reserved for new-to-me games that are not new releases. If I like a game, I’ll continue my first play-through of it each Friday. If not, the following Friday will introduce a new game.

In May I received a request for a custom quilt similar to the rainbow test quilt that I made while I was re-familiarizing myself with sewing in general. The customer requested a green/earth theme, and I am about 40% done with the quilt top as of June 1. My plan is to take it to a long-arm quilter to do the quilting and binding, as I don’t think my sewing machine can tackle the requested full-size blanket.
