Meet Amanda!

Amanda M. Nissen is an 18-year veteran K-12 teacher. She is certified in both K-12 Music and 6-12 Mathematics, and currently teaches Precalculus and AP Statistics in the Tampa Bay region of Florida in the USA. She holds a Bachelor of Music Education degree from the University of Maine at Orono and a Master of Music Education degree from Arizona State University. After spending the first 8 years of her career teaching general and instrumental music, Amanda transitioned to teaching upper level maths in 2013 and has been teaching math ever since.

In her free time, Amanda is reading (sometimes up to three books at once!), writing (book reviews and her first novel), or playing video games (mainly Destiny 2 on Playstation). You can find her in many places on the internet, read about that here!

Amanda lives in Tampa Bay, Florida with her husband, calico cat, and two Miniature Schnauzers.
