Reviewer’s Note: I was not willing to label this as historical fiction, but it’s a Wild West story that doesn’t push the gold rush front and center. Instead, archaeological finds and who will make history with them first is the name of the game. Fans of Michael Crichton will be interested to read this one.

Reviewer’s Note: One of the most fun romances I’ve read in awhile, with a perfect mix of magic and love. With the second book in the series coming out this fall, picking this one up at a steal ahead of time is a great decision that you should make.

Reviewer’s Note: There are many authors that I want to love, but once I’m into their writing they lose me. It’s always been disappointing to me that I cannot seem to latch on to any of the works of V.E. Schwab and The Near Witch was no exception. BUT if you enjoy fantasy/sci-fi novels I would be doing you a disservice if I didn’t point you in her direction. This is an author that isn’t right for me, but is right for sooooooo many others. If you’ve got a couple bucks to throw around, you may want to give this one a go, and then try her Shades of Magic or Villains series.
