Book Reviews

I have two reviews scheduled for this week.

One is an advanced reader copy: The Faraway Place by Patricia Engel. It’s a collection of short stories that explore love, regret, despair, and inevitability. The Faraway Place will be available 1/24/23 wherever books are sold.

The second is the first of The Lake Witch Trilogy by Stephen Graham Jones: My Heart is a Chainsaw. A high school graduate(ish) who is an expert in slasher horror sees the signs of a real life slasher happening in her own town and tries to use her knowledge help the Final Girl prepare to save them all. My Heart is a Chainsaw is available now, and if you are a horror fan you may want to get it before book 2 (Don’t Fear the Reaper) comes out on February 7, 2023.

Live Streaming/Videos

You can watch and chat along with me live on Twitch or view my sessions afterward on YouTube, but either way I’ll be playing on a regular schedule so you know when to tune in. All sessions are a little flexible on start and stop times, and if a session is cancelled it will be marked on my Twitch channel.

Essay Series

This week I will begin posting personal essays on Patreon and Ko-Fi. The first few of these will be accessible to everyone who visits my pages. As I move forward though, some essays may contain information about myself or my opinions that, for my own safety, will be locked behind various levels of paywalls. The cheapest membership will be $3 per month and the highest at the moment is $30 per month, and you can be a member either on Patreon or Ko-Fi, the same content will be available in the same way on both platforms. Please note that these essays will NOT be posted at angryangelbooks.com!
